Francris Arata was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived here until she was 10 years old. Due to political instability, she and her family moved to Turin, Italy, where she has family. She stayed in Turin up until university, where she moved to the city of New York to study Fashion Design at Parsons School of New York. After her 4 undergraduate years, she moved to Milan to study a masters degree in Fashion Buying at Istituto Marangoni Milano for one year.
After her studies, Francris decides to move to Colombia where her family now lives and focuses on custom-made designs for a few years to understand the Colombian market. In September 2015 she launches her first ready-to-wear collection. in 2016 she wins the prestigious Colombian prize of "Se Busca Diseñador" hosted by the known noted magazine Fucsia (known to start the career of many established designers in Colombia) and this allows Arata to be known on a national level.
